The Tarragona Provincial Council approves the budgets for 2023, estimated at 189 million

The plenary session of the Provincial Council of Tarragona this Friday, November 25 has unanimously approved the Corporation's budgets for 2023, estimated at 189 million euros.

The accounts, which were already presented publicly last Wednesday, are the last of this mandate of the Provincial Council (2019-2023) and focus on economic, social and environmental sustainability in the Camp de Tarragona, Terres de l'Ebre and Baix Penedès areas.

During the plenary session, there was reading the manifesto on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women which is celebrated every November 25th. For yet another year, the Provincial Council adheres to the unitary manifesto to commemorate that day and express its commitment to defending women's rights, the feminist struggle and the denunciation of sexist violence.

The manifesto has been prepared by the Catalan Women's Institute of the Generalitat of Catalonia, agreed with the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia (FMC), the Association of Microtowns of Catalonia, the Barcelona City Council, the Government Delegation in Catalonia and the four Catalan councils.

On the other hand, the vice-president, deputy for the Treasury and spokesman for the Junts political group, Quim Nin, has made his resignation official to take on new responsibilities in the Government of the Generalitat (general secretary of the Ministry of Universities.

During her speech, Nin expressed her gratitude for the work, support and respect shown by all the political groups and by the entire human team of the Provincial Council, as well as for the continued work in favor of the citizens of the demarcation.

For his part, the president, Noemí Llauradóand the spokespersons of all the corporation's groups have thanked Nin for her work, involvement and capacity for consensus and dialogue throughout the time she has been part of the government team of the Diputació de Tarragona.

In the plenary session this Friday, and within the framework of the recent commemoration of the International Day of the Right to Die with Dignity, the institutional declaration in support of the right to die with dignity was also read, for which the Provincial Council undertakes to work for offer training resources to local authorities on the rights of citizenship at the end of life and the benefit of carrying out the Document of Advance Directives (DVA). In the declaration, the Tarragona Provincial Council also declares its desire to promote awareness and reflection on the right to a dignified death with the collaboration of the DMD Catalunya Association (DMD-Cat).
