The Martin storm arrives in Spain, followed by a Dana that will affect Catalonia

The passage of a cold front, associated to a storm north of the British Isles, will give rise to rains in the peninsula for the next few days, which will move from west to east, before reaching the Mediterranean area on Thursday, where it will drop a little danaRubén Del Campo, spokesman for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), has advanced.

Regarding the temperatures, Del Campo has indicated that these will drop during the passage of the front to rise again little by little, favoring a generally "less cool" environment for the time of yearwith greater incidence, in the east and south of the peninsula.

This Monday, the highlights are the "extensive" morning mists in areas of the northern plateau, which will leave a colder environment, in addition to the maritime storm on the Galician Atlantic coast and in the Bay of Biscay, with waves of up to 6 meters, and rains in Galicia and nearby areas, due to the approximation of the front to the rest of the country.

As of Tuesday, the aforementioned front will advance towards the east of the country and it will rain in Galicia, the Cantabrian Communities, Navarra, northwest Aragon, large areas of Castilla y León, parts of the Community of Madrid, especially in the mountains, Extremadura and Western Andalusia.

During this day, the wind will blow hardespecially on the coast of Galicia and in the Cantabrian mountain range and daytime temperatures will rise in the Mediterranean area, while they will drop in the south with a general increase in night temperatures, the result of greater cloudiness.

Thus, the frosts will disappear and 20 degrees will be exceeded in the central hours of the day at points in the Bay of Biscay, the Balearic Islands, the Mediterranean area and Andalusia, and 25 degrees in Girona, Barcelona or Granada and even 28 degrees could be reached in Valenciahas detailed Del Campo.

On Wednesday, with the advance of the frontal system, the rains will be concentrated in the central strip of the peninsula, mainly in Cantabria, the Basque Country, Navarra, La Rioja, Aragón, Castilla y León, the Community of Madrid, north and west of Castilla- La Mancha and Extremadura, without ruling out that, at the end of the day, they reach the Mediterranean regions and the Balearic Islands.

Night temperatures will drop that day in the west of the peninsula, while the daytime will also descend in the central strip of the peninsula, which will receive the greatest amount of rain and, therefore, also more cloudiness.

On Thursday the front will have already crossed the Peninsula, but a Dana will drop from the north towards the Mediterranean area, leaving an unstable environment, with rains that in the Valencian Community, the Murcia Region and the Balearic Islands could be "locally intense and accompanied by storms" .

On Friday, even with a lot of uncertainty, showers will continue in these Mediterranean regionsthat could extend to the south of Andalusia, and in the rest of Spain hardly any rainfall is expected.

During Thursday and Friday, daytime temperatures will rise, except in the Mediterranean regions, where that cloudier environment and the rains will leave a somewhat cooler feeling, although they will continue to exceed 20 degrees in the Cantabrian Sea, CataloniaMediterranean coast, Balearic Islands, Extremadura and Andalusia; in Badajoz, Almería, Granada, Jaén, Málaga and Huelva 25 degrees, and 28 degrees in Seville.
