Quim Nin, in the 'sottogoverno' of Pere Aragonès

Until now, the vice-president of the Provincial Council of Tarragona, Quim Nin (PDeCAT), will be Quim Nadal's number 2 in the Ministry of Research and Universities. This has been designated today by the new Government of Pedro Aragonés (ERC), which has appointed Albinyana as Secretary General of the Ministry led by the former socialist leader.

In this way, Nin – who was already part of the government of Carles Puigdemont-, returns four years later to the Generalitat. The mayor of the town of Baix Penedès already served as a delegate of the Government between 2011 and 2016, under the presidency of Artur Mas (CiU). After the regional elections of 2015 he was appointed as Secretary General of the Presidency by the hand of the current Secretary General of Junts per Catalunya, Jordi Turull. Nin has been prosecuted for the preparations for the October 1 referendum and, during the application of article 155 of the Constitution, he was the highest ranking official that remained in the Government.

In 2018 he returned to the Diputació de Tarragona, a corporation in which he already served as vice president between 2003 and 2011, first with Joan Aregio and, later, with Josep Poblet as top representatives. Since 2019 he has been the first vice president of Noemí Llauradó (ERC), after the pact signed by Junts and ERC that year, and which today -after the internal movement in Junts- has become a provincial government between Esquerra and PDeCAT.
