What are the origins of the company?
The company was born in 2010 when, after discovering the wine world, we decided to return home and make our first wine in my father's vineyards. In 2013 we started a small winery in Batea that allows us to put into practice the knowledge we had acquired. In 2016 we decided to make a winery in the vineyard itself, surrounded by landscape and nature.
What does your innovative project consist of?
From the beginning we have been clear, by concept that our philosophy is organic production, so we opted for that path. In addition, we created an environmental project next to the winery. Its objective is to watch over the flora and fauna of the territory. In this sense, we have carried out many actions to promote biodiversity. In addition, we maintain the orography of all our farms, in tune with the forest and nature. The dry stone margins are also preserved. In the social field, we collaborate with the Escola Agrària de Gandesa, betting on training in the territory.
Why have they entered the contest?
The merit in this regard belongs to Enric Sunyer, in charge of viticulture. He received the call, and we thought of making ourselves known more, especially in the nearest territory. Having the opportunity to explain our different actions in favor of the environment through recognition like this is also something important.
What does it mean for the company to be a finalist and possible winner of the award?
It is a recognition of the work we have done and that has taken time and effort. We have a short history, in this sector we are considered a young winery, but we have managed to do important things, especially in terms of protecting the planet. It is a change that the companies have to make together to make it a solid change. As companies we have that duty and we would achieve it sooner if we all went hand in hand. A recognition, therefore, by an entity is always something special, which is very exciting.
