Improvement of the Querol road in four urbanizations
The main road that joins the two extremes of the municipality of Querol is very busy since it connects the urban center with the other side of the Montagut-Ancosa mountain range. For this reason, the City Council has decided to improve some points of the route for a safety issue, as well as the Seguer path.
The Montagut path (which gives access to urbanizations such as Can Llenas, Ranchos de Bonany, Mas Gassons and Mas Vermell) has a mountain pavement, with a width of between four and five meters. It has sections with a steep slope and a series of very tight curves on which action is planned to improve visibility, traffic and, above all, safety.
The Montagut path is paved along its entire length, alternating concrete pavements on the steepest sections with asphalt pavements.
In the tightest curves, there is currently a certain widening of the paved platform, but in most cases it does not reach one meter more, which is not considered enough to have adequate visibility and safety.
Certain sections of the concreted ditch present discontinuities, which cause the downstream sections to fill with earth dragged by these unconcreted sections, rendering them useless and pouring the water through the road.
The project foresees the improvement of six curves, four ditches and an improvement of the pavement.
For its part, the Seguer path presents a couple of curves in which the same widening and ditch work must be carried out as on the Montagut path. The bidding budget for both projects is 73,273.14 euros.
