Gas explosion in a restaurant on La Rambla Nova

A loud noise has shaken this Sunday after-dinner the northern part of the Rambla Nova. A gas explosion, confirmed by Bombers, inside the Koyo Japanese restaurant, has caused glass breakage and half a dozen injured customers, although the severity is unknown.

Calls to 112 have begun to come in at 3:57 p.m. and Bombers has activated 7 crews, Guàrdia Urbana several patrols and the SEM has also taken ambulances for possible injured people.

The causes at this time are uncertain, but there are windows that can fall and other rooms that must be secured. Bombers has reported that there does not seem to be any risk beyond the damage from the explosion and that there would be no fire or smoke.

The injured people could be employees of the premises, cooks and the explosion could have affected the side of the premises on Roger de Llúria street.
