ERC will govern alone

The Minister of the Presidency, Laura Vilagrà, has ruled out this Saturday incorporating other parties into the Govern alone of ERC, has assured that they are finalizing the "agile" structure that the new Executive will have and that they are finishing choosing the new ministers.

He has said so in statements to the media, while this Saturday morning the President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, is meeting with his team at the Palau de la Generalitat to configure the Government alone from the Republicans.

Vilagrà explained that they still do not have the team of new ministers closed but that it is "very advanced", although he did not want to reveal any names.

He has also pointed out that they are reconfiguring the Government so that it is "strong, cohesive and loyal", and that it serves to face current challenges, especially in the face of the economic and social situation caused by inflation.

For this reason, he has defended that the Government needs “stability” and security, and has indicated that they anticipate that the Executive will be configured at the beginning of the week.

Asked if they are considering the entry of any other party into the Government, Vilagrà has rejected it, although he has stressed that the new ministers must be "open" to speaking with different parliamentary groups.

In this sense, he has stated that they will prioritize alliances with pro-independence groups and with the comuns, both to carry out the Budgets of the Generalitat for 2023 and other projects, he has added that they will choose the "right" people for each Ministry, who are experts in their field and has said that some have experience in the public sphere.

Likewise, he stressed that they want to be an "open, collaborative and transparent" Government with social and economic agents, and with town halls and municipal entities to prepare the Executive's projects.

negotiate budgets

On whether they contemplate extending the Budgets, Vilagrà has claimed that last year's accounts were good but has opted to try to negotiate those of 2023 that the Minister of Economy, Jaume Giró, who has now left office, was preparing.

Thus, he has ensured that as the new ministers take office, they must work on the Budget project with the aim of approving them.
