Cambrils seals off a warehouse for meat products without a license
The Central Unit of Illegal Immigration Networks and False Documents (UCRIF) of the National Police of the Reus police station and patrols of the Cambrils Local Police carried out a police operation on Baix Camp avenue on Tuesday.
The objective of the programmed device was to confirm an investigation opened by the UCRIF on the suspicions of the presence of irregular workers in a place located at a point of this artery of the fishing village.
The operation was carried out shortly before noon and sources from both bodies pointed out that five people were identified, of whom two ended up arrested: one for being the author of a crime against the rights of workers and another for being in an irregular situation in Spain.
Both were taken to police stations and released while waiting to be summoned by the judicial authority.
In addition to the operation carried out by the National Police, the agents noticed that the warehouse where they worked (with meat products, among other items) had a series of anomalies, starting with the absence of an activity license.
For this reason, the Local Police informed the Department of Public Health of the Cambrils City Council to report this allegedly illegal activity and the warehouse was automatically sealed until the warehouse situation is regularized.
