Ari Sánchez wins the World Cup with Spain
Ari Sánchez continues to add successes to his dream record. The player from Reus managed with Spain to win the eighth women's title for the Spanish team, the fifth in a row, in the world padel championships that are played in Dubai, after defeating Argentina 2-0, with the victories of the pairs formed by Paula Josemaría and Reus herself and Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay, these two being the dominant couples on the world circuit at the moment.
The final between the Spanish and the Argentines, which was also repeated in the men's category, has taken over the 16 editions of the competition, except for the one in 2012 in Mexico that pitted the Albicelestes against Brazil, and opted in favor of Spain, far superior to its rival.
The first point was added by Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez against Delfina Brea and Aranzazu Osorio by winning 7-6 (7/5) and 6-4, after 1 hour and 57 minutes of play, in which the Argentines forced the tiebreaker in the first set and had the initial advantage in the second that they could not keep.
The Spanish overcame the 1-3 deficit to equalize and take 5-4 in their favor after breaking the rival pair's serve to win the duel with their serve.
In the second match, Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay did not fail either and decided the title for Spain with a resounding 6-1 and 6-2 victory over Julieta Bidahorria and Virginia Riera in 1 hour and 57 minutes of play.
Salazar and Triay quickly resolved the first set (28 minutes), in which the Argentine couple only added one game after having given up the first 5.
This situation was almost repeated in the second round, since the Spanish team scored the first four games in a row, until their rivals were able to react to score two games in the final stretch, insufficient to prevent the Spanish victory.
Ari defeated Delfina Brea and Aranzazu Osorio together with Josemaría 7-6 (7-5) and 6-4
