The female Casademont-Students, postponed due to covid

The Casademont Zaragoza-Movistar Estudiantes has been postponed due to covid. The Endesa Women’s League match, corresponding to matchday 23 and which was scheduled for this coming Sunday at the Príncipe Felipe, cannot be played on that date due to the appearance of several positive cases in the Aragonese team’s squad.

These positives were detected in the tests carried out this week and, as explained by the club in a statement on its website, “all the positives detected are with mild symptoms, confined to their homes and under monitoring by our medical services.”

As clubs have been doing in this type of situation, Casademont Zaragoza, coached by Carlos Cantero, has not confirmed which players or members of the coaching staff it is.

In this way, Casademont will not be able to make their new player debut, the Polish center Anna María Winkowska, who recently signed to replace the long-term loss of Aminata Sangare. Winkowska has already joined training but her debut will take a while.

Sangare suffers the “anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus tear, medial collateral ligament sprain, and possible posterolateral knee angle injury“, which will force him to go through the operating room shortly. The recovery time will not be less than seven months, as explained by the Zaragoza club in a press release.

The Malian international suffered the injury while playing for her national team during the recent Africa Cup of Nations dispute. An important setback for the next dispute of the Copa de la Reina, scheduled for March 24, 25 and 26 in Valencia.
