Subtle (and textile) support of the Queen to Ukraine

Doña Letizia has shown this Thursday her support for the ukrainian people in a subtle way… and textile. And it is that the Queen has appeared in an act dressed in a ‘soroschka’, the traditional shirt of that country. With this gesture, he wanted to support Ukraine, which has been under attack by Russian forces for more than a week.

Although members of the Royal House traditionally do not express their opinions on national or international political issues, it is true that Don Felipe stated last Sunday that the Russian attack is “a threat to Europe and the world order.” “The last thing I could imagine is being gathered here under the dark omen of war in Eastern Europe. We are sad and angry“, he stated at the opening dinner of the Mobile World Congress in Madrid.

“Respect for international law by States, without exception, must be the basis of this and any peace”, he argued, after reminding the families of the more than 100,000 Ukrainians living in Spain.

This Thursday, the Queen presided over the award ceremony for the 10th Call for Grants for Social Action Projects granted by the Fundación Mutua Madrileña to NGO projects, accompanied by the president of Fundación Mutua Madrileña, Ignacio Garralda.
