Banco Santander and the Chamber of Zaragoza launch the sixth edition of the Zaragoza SME of the Year Award

Banco Santander and the Zaragoza Chamber of Commerce announce, in collaboration with the Chamber of Spain and HERALDO DE ARAGÓN, the sixth edition of the SME of the Year Award. The objective of this contest is to recognize the work of small and medium-sized companies as generators of wealth and creators of employment in the performance of their daily work. The nomination period for the SME of the Year 2022 award will close at 00:00 on April 30.

To this new call All small and medium-sized companies that have less than 250 employees and whose turnover is less than 50 million euros at the end of the 2021 financial year, with their headquarters in the province of Zaragoza, can attend. In addition to choosing the SME of the Year, the jury may award four second prizes in the categories of Internationalization, Innovation and Digitization, Training and Employment, and Sustainable SME to reward companies that stand out for their work in these fundamental aspects of the business sector .

The winning company will compete for the National SME of the Year Award 2022, which will be decided in the first quarter of 2023. Those who have obtained the award within the different second prizes will compete in the same contest in their respective categories along with the rest of the winning entities in other provinces.

Interested organizations must fill out the registration form that they will find on the website of the Zaragoza Chamber of Commerce, where they can also consult the contest rules. The jury will value in its deliberations merits such as job creation, with special attention to permanent employment; training actions for employees; The internationalization of the company; digitization and innovation initiatives, as well as the sustainable projects in which they have participated.

5,700 participating SMEs

The SME of the Year Award is consolidated with this sixth edition as the reference award for small and medium-sized Spanish companies. Last year, the fifth edition of the same, a total of 1,770 companies from the 50 provinces and the Autonomous City of Ceuta registeredand had the participation of 47 territorial Chambers of Commerce.

Since 2017, the year of its launch, there are already 5,670 SMEs that have participated in this event.
