Electricity will exceed 300 euros/MWh this Thursday for the first time this year

The price of electricity in the wholesale market will rise this Thursday by 34.44% compared to this Wednesday and will reach 341.52 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) on average daily, the highest so far in 2022, according to data from the Iberian Market Operator (OMIE).

A week after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the price of electricity will exceed the barrier of 300 euros/MWh for the first time this year and it will be at its third highest figure in history.

The average price of tomorrow it will be almost 11% cheaper than the one on December 23 of last year, then electricity marked its maximum at 383.67 euros/MWh.
